Let's take a look at some of my reading stats from 2019:
- I read way more this year than last year. This year I read 68 books! Last year, I only read 45. That increase in reading is something to be proud of for sure!
- The top publisher that I read from this year was Atria Books. This was surprising for me to see. I had no idea what publisher would rank on top for me this year. This data took the longest for me to compute. I had to go through every single book that I read and make a list. Nonetheless, this is super cool to see.
- I wasn't surprised to see that Young Adult ranked the highest for me in genre's read. Since it is my favorite genre and I consider myself a mood reader. However, Non-fiction books did make a close second. I knew I read diversely and that I rank on the higher side for non-fiction books. I didn't know that non-fiction would be this close to YA books.
- This past year, I for sure read more backlist books instead of new releases. I am still trying to lower my TBR on my bookshelves at home. I am running out of room.

Favorite Books Read In 2019 (five stars):
- Eight out of the books that I read this year are some of my new favorites. All are equally as good for so many different reasons.
Books I DNF:
- I have no problem not finishing a book that I am not liking. If it's too painful to read, I do DNF books. Even if I am almost done reading them. This past year, I DNF five books. Not too shabby if you ask me.

Yeah, I wish I wouldn't have DNF any but I won't force myself to read anything that I am not enjoying. I hope you have a wonderful new year!
DeleteI love stats posts! I posted mine a few days ago. I also read more backlist books. I think I only read 2 books published in 2019. I got Evelyn Hugo for Christmas, so I’ll be reading it sometime this year.

You will love it! It's so good!!! Let me know how you like it once you do read it. I will for sure check your post out.
DeleteI keep all of my information in a spreadsheet so it's easy to compile at the end of the year. It includes publisher info and LOTS more! I know Val @ Voracious Reader created one this year that's similar if you want to check it out. :-)
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
Yes, that would be super helpful. I will have to check it out. Thanks for the tip. I love seeing stats.
DeleteI second Val's spreadsheets, they're AMAZING and she added so much stuff this year! I'm tracking similar stats using Val's spreadsheet. I love that you also track which publishers you read!
DeleteFor your YA categories, are they different genres withing YA? Like I read mostly YA romance and YA fantasy when I read YA, but there are other genres in YA that those two... right?
