I've been following her for the past few days. I know where she buys her groceries, where she works. I don't know the color of her eyes or what they look like when she's scared. But I will. One night, Mia Dennett enters a bar to meet her on-again, off-again boyfriend. But when he doesn't show, she unwisely leaves with an enigmatic stranger. At first, Colin Thatcher seems like a safe one-night stand. But following Colin home will turn out to be the worst mistake of Mia's life. When Colin decides to hide Mia in a secluded cabin in rural Minnesota instead of delivering her to his employers, Mia's mother, Eve, and detective Gabe Hoffman will stop at nothing to find them. But no one could have predicted the emotional entanglements that eventually cause this family's world to shatter.
A girl goes missing and falls in love with her captor.
I had no expectations going into this book but man is my mind blown! This was one thriller that was hard to put down. There were many twists and turns but all in a good way. Finally, a thriller where I did not guess a single thing! I loved the alternating plot between the past and the present but also with different points of view from the characters. It made the story far more interesting. The authors writing and storytelling are amazing! I will for sure be picking up some more of her thrillers.

Mia, the main character is one day abducted and taken out into the freezing woods with her captor. The story shows her falling in love with the man who kidnapped her. The plot goes back in forth from before Mia was kidnapped, during her abduction, and after the abduction. This made for a very interesting story. I was not prepared for the ending or twists in the slightest which is very hard to come by for thrillers. I loved how you begin to fall for and like Mia's captor alongside her. I was instantaneously hooked that I did not want the story to end.

Some parts were a bit drawn out. If some very few parts had been left out this book this would have easily been a five-star book! I absolutely detest Mia's Father. Having shorter chapters in the book was a nice touch. If you like thrillers you have to pick this one up! I cannot wait to get into more of Mary Kubica's books! Don't give up reading this book. It takes a little while to get into but once you do WOW! That's all I am going to leave you with because I do not want to spoil anything.
